Manika Ward, a 16 year old author has just had her first children’s book published.

The book is over 140 pages, with ten different stories about a dog named “BOO”. This book was written for children 2-12 years of age. At the end of each story a very important lesson is learned for the child reading the book. Manika has been reading to children in the elementary schools..

Manika, who owns two dogs, two birds, three rabbits, five fish and a hamster, undoubtedly loves animals of all kinds. She has decided to donate all proceeds from the first 500 books sold to the Nevada SPCA animal shelter. The books will be sold for $29.95, which would mean the Nevada SPCA would receive almost $15,000 if all were to be sold- a loving gift of life from a local 16-year-old.
