Santa Claus Parade @ Town Square Las Vegas will take place November 13, 2009. It the 3rd Annual Santa’s Arrival Parade @ 7pm sharp! Its feeling a lot like Christmas………………………

Santa Claus is coming to town… Town Square that is! Santa arrives by horse drawn carriage during the magical Holly Jolly Holiday Parade through the streets of Town Square! Once Santa reaches his Norman Rockwell inspired house, children can help Santa magically light the Town Square 40’ tree as snow begins to fall over Town Square Park.

“The Spirit of the Season”
Following the lighting of the Town Square Tree
Kids can help Santa’s Elves make sure everyone’s holiday spirit is in tip top shape as they enjoy an interactive stage show with singing, dancing and plenty of cheer!

Oct. 29 – Trunk or Treat
Black Mountain Recreation Center
All ages – 6:00-9:00 p.m. – $3 in advance, $5 at the door
Put on your costume and follow the trick or treat trail in our parking lot. We’ll pass out a fun mix of tricks and treats from the trunks of our spookily decorated cars. Event includes entertainment and a costume contest. Barbecued ribs, chicken and hamburgers will be available for purchase. Register by Oct. 28. Register online using activity number 154027-00.

Las Vegas Halloween & Harvest Activities for 2009. We highly recommend that you call to confirm dates prior to attending.

City of Las Vegas offers these Safety tips for a fun and safe Halloween:

Stay Safe This Halloween

Halloween is full of tricks and treats, and with goblins and witches out on the prowl, it’s a good idea to revisit some basic safety tips for the holiday.

Costumes
• Use face paint rather than a mask. If you wear a mask, make sure the eye holes are large enough for you to clearly see through.
• Wear light-colored or reflective materials.
• If your costume includes a prop such as a sword, make sure it is made of soft material.
• Make sure there is nothing hanging from your costume.
• Ensure that costumes are made from fire proof materials.

Trick or treating
• Walk on sidewalks, not in the street and cross the street only at corners. Look both ways before crossing the street.
• Always use a flashlight to help you spot any obstacles.
• Accept treats at the door only. Do not go into someone’s home to receive a treat.
• Always trick or treat with groups and make sure an adult accompanies the group.
• Visit only those homes that have porch lights on.
• Be cautious of strangers.

Back at Home
• Make sure adults inspect treats before they are eaten.
• Never eat unwrapped candy, open candy or fruit.
