Beginning Chess Series Session I
Free Chess Instruction! Sessions I-IV of a 4 part beginner’s series. Blacks in Hollywood and Film – Workshops for Youth
Join us for the 2nd Annual BLACKS IN HOLLYWOOD AND FILM – Workshops for Youth highlighting Black History Month and the arts. The goal is to expose, enlighten and educate children, their families, and adults of the inner-city community on the history and contributions of African American Actors, Actresses, Writers, Musicians, Singers, Directors, Producers, etc., in the medium of film/movies. Mr. Nate Bynum, UNLV Professor of Theatre in collaboration with Ms. Rahyme Cornell, Voice Over Instructor, Theatre Dept., UNLV, Mr. Clarence Gilyard, Actor and Instructor of Theatre, UNLV; Ms. Terilyn Shropshire, Film Editor, Emmy Nominee and Film Award Winner; Ms. Dee Dee Jasmin, legendary actress, singer and dancer in film, television and on stage; and other film/business professionals will facilitate the workshops and film series. Planetarium: Secret of the Cardboard Rocket
Two children build a rocket out of a refrigerator box and take a fantastic journey through the solar system with the help of a magical book and vivid imaginations. An original production of the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City, UT, in Digistar™. Produced with state of the art 3-D animation and a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack with spectacular effects created at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch. The program has a running time of approximately 40 minutes.
